What it is

What is PaintProtection Film

A transparent polyurethane film applied over the factory paint that absorbs the impacts which would otherwise reach the bodywork. It is invisible, does not alter the colour and, when removed, leaves the original paint underneath intact.

01

Stone chips

The most common damage to the front end and the most expensive to fix, because it means repainting the whole panel.

02

Everyday scratches

Door edges, around the handles, the boot sill. These are the areas that pick up marks through normal use of the car.

03

UV, salt and chemicals

A barrier against sun exposure, the sea air and organic residue, which would otherwise etch into the clear coat.

04

Resale value

Keeping the factory paint free of resprays is one of the biggest factors in the valuation of a high-end car.

Protection packages

Protectionpackages

The same XPEL film in all three packages. What changes is how much of the car is covered. The front end is the usual starting point, as it is the most exposed area.

All prices are "from" and depend on the car. The final price depends on the exact model, the parts that need removing and the condition of the paint, and is confirmed after seeing the car or some photos. If the paint has defects, it has to be corrected first: sealing over a scratch means keeping it there for good.

Technical feature

Self-healingtop coat

The outer layer of the film has elastic memory: wash swirls and light surface marks close up with heat, in the sun or with warm water. The surface stays uniform over time instead of building up wash marks.

  • InvisibleGloss finish that respects the original colour. Also available in satin if you want a different look.
  • RemovableComes off without taking the paint underneath, which stays as it left the factory.
  • Ceramic finishThe film comes with a factory ceramic top coat: it repels water and makes washing easier, with nothing applied on top.

How it is done

The installationprocess

Much of the result is decided before the film touches the car. This is the full procedure.

Wash and decontamination

Thorough wash, clay bar and degreasing. Any particle left underneath will show forever.

Paint inspection

Checked under inspection lighting. Any defects are corrected first: there is no going back once the film is on.

Removing parts

Whatever is needed comes off so the film can be tucked behind the edges and no edge is visible.

Cutting and application

XPEL pre-cut pattern for your exact model, applied panel by panel in a dust-free booth.

Curing

The film settles and the adhesive fully bonds. The car stays with us until it is ready.

Handover and check

Final check under lights, handover and care guidelines so it lasts as long as it should.

Information

Frequently askedquestions

Does it yellow over time?

We install XPEL, which has a UV filter and does not yellow within its service life. What yellows is cheap or badly applied product. Message us and we will tell you the exact reference and the warranty it carries before you decide anything.

Can you tell the car has it?

Not from the front. The gloss finish keeps the original colour and reflection. Up close and in good light you may make out the edges, which is why parts are removed: to tuck the edges inside instead of leaving them exposed.

How many days does the car stay?

It depends on the scope. A front end is considerably quicker than a full body, which takes several days because of the disassembly, the panel-by-panel application and the curing. We give you the exact date when we confirm the quote.

Can I wash the car normally?

Yes. Hand wash or a good tunnel wash without harsh brushes. What to avoid is a pressure lance point-blank on an edge, and abrasive products. We explain it all at handover.

PPF or ceramic coating?

They are not the same and they do not compete. Ceramic is a chemical layer: it adds gloss, repels water and makes washing easier, but it will not stop a stone. PPF is a physical layer with real thickness: it is the only thing that absorbs impacts. The film we install already has its ceramic top coat from the factory, so nothing is applied on top.

What if my car already has a chip or scratch?

We assess it first. A light scratch is corrected and then protected. If there is damaged bodywork or a poor respray, we tell you: there is no point sealing over a problem. Send us photos and we will take a look.
